Lindsey Conklin, Ph.D.
Lindsey Conklin serves as a Senior Researcher at the FrameWorks Institute. Prior to joining FrameWorks, she worked as a research associate at Gehl Institute on projects related to community development and public space. In that role, she led the Institute’s first applied research projects which cut across several themes: public health, placemaking, mobility, and social cohesion. A psychological anthropologist by training, Lindsey’s past research analyzed the impact of community expectations on the self-presentation of young women in Jordan and Syria. In particular, she focused on how gender, class, and religion intersect to influence beliefs and behavior during the transition to adulthood. She holds a BA in psychology and French from the University of Virginia, and an MA and PhD in Comparative Human Development from the University of Chicago.
