Uma Iyer

Uma Iyer is currently the Vice President for Marketing and Communications at the National Women’s Law Center. In addition to being a member of the organization’s senior leadership team, Uma oversees their work on narrative and culture change across a range of gender justice issues, media relations and crisis communications, digital organizing campaigns, creative and content strategies, and events. With 20 years of experience in social impact and brand strategy, data-driven storytelling, and grassroots advocacy across for- and non-profit organizations, Uma has spent her career connecting people with product, power, and purpose. She is also on the board of Shadhika, and has appeared, both in first person and as a ghostwriter, in outlets from CNN to People to Teen Vogue. Uma resides with her family in Washington, DC.
