The Moving Mindsets Innovation Lab exists to challenge and shift the cultural ideas that hold structural racism and health inequity in place. How we understand gender, who we believe deserves care, and what we think families look like — these aren't just social questions. They shape policy, determine who gets support, and decide who bears the cost when systems fail.

Research
We conduct rigorous research on narratives about gender, caregiving, and family—mapping the landscape of social and entertainment media to identify narratives we must counter and narratives that can help reimagine gender, family, and care.
Partners
We work with partner organizations to develop and test narratives that counter harmful cultural ideas in the short term while building the conditions for a culture of care in the long-term.
Real World Application
We support partner organizations to apply these insights in real-world work: from narrative capacity building and campaign design, to shared learning and a living research infrastructure that keeps movements ahead of shifting narrative terrain.
What We Do
About the Moving Mindsets Innovation Lab
The Moving Mindsets Innovation Lab is a multi-year narrative lab designed to innovate how we tackle changing mindsets around gender, care, and families. Rooted in deep partnership, the program supports organizations in developing and testing innovative narrative strategies to counter the cultural ideas driving health inequities and structural racism—particularly around how people understand gender, and who we believe deserves care.
Our 2024-2025 Cohort Members
Transforming a culture of care requires an ecosystem of aligned movement organizations. We partner with organizations whose work spans the full landscape of gender justice, family well-being, and caregiver power, bringing together their frontline experience and our narrative research to build cross-movement strategies.

Working to transform cultural norms around aging, disability, and care; win policy change at every level; and unite the millions of us touched by care into a powerful coalition.

A reproductive justice organization that centers queer, trans, Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, using cultural strategy to shift how we think about family and build movement power.
Alianza Americas
A network of Latin American and Caribbean migrant-led organizations working across immigrant justice, climate justice, and systemic inequity to build an inclusive and sustainable way of life for communities in the U.S. and countries of origin.

Center for Masculinities and Social Justice — promoting gender equality and a world free from violence by engaging men and boys in partnership with women, girls, and people of all gender identities, grounded in more than two decades of research.
