Director of Research Application

Marisa Gerstein Pineau is Director of Research Application at FrameWorks. In this role she bridges the Research and Research Interpretation and Applications units, leading the research phases of projects and using her depth of knowledge about the reframing research to the dissemination phase. During her tenure at FrameWorks she has led projects on family, school, and community engagement; developmental relationships; Transition Age Youth; homelessness in the UK; and reframing children’s care in Scotland. She has done research and led workshops and trainings on reframing adolescence, aging, social determinants of health, and poverty in the UK. A sociologist by training, her previous research focused on gender and family, medicine, culture, and public policy. Prior to joining FrameWorks, she served as a program officer with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, where she co-edited “The Integration of Immigrants into American Society,” a comprehensive review of immigrant integration in the United States. Marisa received her BA in sociology from New College of Florida and her MA and PhD in sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
