A Toolkit for Communicators of Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Bangladesh
A Toolkit for Communicators of Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Bangladesh
Summary
Through rigorous research with members of the Bangladeshi public, FrameWorks and the BRAC Institute of Educational Development identified seven framing tools — three values and four metaphors — that are especially effective at building understanding of Early Childhood Development (ECD) and deepening public support for greater investment in the field.
These tools aren’t scripts, not meant to be lifted verbatim and dropped into a social post or a press release. Instead, they’re core ideas or ways of thinking and talking about ECD that have been shown, empirically, to shift how people understand and prioritize this issue. Communicators across the ECD sector and beyond are encouraged to weave these ideas into their work creatively and flexibly, across different message formats, on different platforms, and through the voices of many different messengers working toward the same goal — a Bangladesh where every child has what they need to thrive.
