Theresa Miller, Ph.D.

Theresa Miller is an anthropologist and serves as a Director of Research at the FrameWorks Institute.

Director of Research

Theresa L. Miller is a Director of Research at FrameWorks Institute. Theresa oversees and manages FrameWorks’ health equity and criminal justice reform research, as well as FrameWorks’ international work. She currently oversees and manages projects in the U.S., Brazil, and Europe and works closely with FrameWorks UK on UK-based research. Theresa has research experience with issues such as criminal justice reform, economic and housing inequality, child health and wellbeing, civic participation, and environmental justice. Across projects, she approaches framing research with a racial, economic, and social justice and equity lens. She holds a DPhil (PhD) in Anthropology and an MPhil in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford, and a BA in International Studies and Spanish from American University. Prior to joining FrameWorks in 2019, Theresa held positions as an Environmental Social Scientist at the Field Museum in Chicago and as a Peter Buck Postdoctoral Fellow at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC. She speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
